BELGRADE, April 22 - Serbia's acting president Natasa Micic said Tuesday
she had ordered the lifting of a state of emergency declared following last
month's murder of prime minister Zoran Djindjic.
Micic said that, after 42 days, "the conditions were met for the state of
emergency to be lifted."
The state of emergency was declared on March 12, just hours after Djindjic was
shot dead in broad daylight outside the main government building in Belgrade.
