UN police arrest four Protection Corps members

PRISTINA -- Monday – UN police and NATO-led peacekeepers have arrested four
members of the Kosovo Protection Corps on suspicion of murder, a UN police
spokesman confirmed this morning.
A police statement specified that one of the detainees is an officer in the
UN-created civilian response unit.
Media reports have named him as Selim Krasniqi, a former member of the Kosovo
Liberation Army.
The statement insisted the operation was aimed at individuals, not the entire
Protection Corps.
Unofficial sources in Pristina say the arrests could be linked to the war crimes
tribunal in The Hague.
