Two killed in explosion in Serb part of divided Kosovo town

[Announcer] Two persons have been killed in the northern [Serb- populated] part of Kosovska Mitrovica following an explosion in a house, regional UNMIK [UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo] spokesman Larry Miller has confirmed. As Tanjug found out, Jahir and Minamera Jahirovic were the victims. Miller told Tanjug that at 1255 [1055 gmt] the police had been notified about an explosion in Vlade Cetkovica Street. Following an intensive investigation, police from the northern Mitrovica police station of a regional UNMIK unit located the site of the explosion in the cellar of a house, the regional spokesman said, adding that two victims of the explosion had been found - a man and a woman. The exact cause of the explosion had not been established yet, Miller said, adding that forensic experts had been at the scene investigating the site together with the prosecutor before the special Kfor [NATO-led Kosovo Force] unit arrived.
