BELGRADE -- Monday – The three prime suspects in
the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic were all involved in
the arrest of Slobodan Milosevic in March 2001, Deputy Prime Minister Nebojsa
Covic said today.
Covic revealed the information after being asked whether he was acquainted with
former Red Berets commander Milorad “Legija” Lukovic.
He told media that he had met the man believed to have masterminded the
assassination on a number of occasions, including having seen him among the
masked special police present on that occasion.
Covic added that Dusan Spasojevic and Mile Lukovic, both of whom were shot dead
while resisting arrest, were also present.
