SERBIAN RADICALS LEADER HINTS AT "MASS PROTESTS AGAINST BORIS TADIC'S REGIME"
BBC Monitoring International Reports - July 22, 2008, Tuesday

Text of report by Serbian pro-western Belgrade-based B-92 TV, on 22 July

[Presenter] Serbian Radical Party [SRS] deputy chairman Tomislav Nikolic has said that the former president of the [Bosnian] Serb Republic, Radovan Karadzic, was arrested on Friday 18 July at 2130 hrs [1930 gmt] in [public] bus operating on the line number 83. His arrest is a difficult day in Serbia's history. Karadzic is not a war criminal but he deservedly became a legend and a myth in the Serbian people, Nikolic told an extraordinary news conference.

According to Nikolic, Serbian President Boris Tadic was making acts of high treason, adding that the Radicals would make all forms of political struggle in order to topple his regime.

[Nikolic] I have announced all possible forms of political struggle in order to topple Boris Tadic's regime, including mass protests about which all of us in Serbia who can organize protests will talk.

I cannot discuss the timing. You yourselves have already said that this is not possible. There are enough patriotic non-government organizations with which the Serbian Radical Party already cooperates.
