KOSOVO TOWN
B-92 Radio - October 5, 2003
Sofijana Jovanovic, who was wounded in the front-yard of her home in Gnjilane,
has been operated on in Pristina hospital. For now she is feeling well, Kosovo
Assembly deputy Vesna Jovanovic has told Beta.
Sofijana Jovanovic was shot by an ethnic Albanian, named as Kadrus (name
phonetic) from Donji Livoc, after the Gnjilane court ruled he had to vacate her
house, which he had moved into illegally.
After a brief argument, the ethnic Albanian shot the old woman twice in the
stomach and leg. He was quickly arrested. The centre of Gnjilane remains
cordoned off by the police and Kfor (Kosovo Force).
