Bodies of
missing Kosovo Serbs identified

MERDARE -- Friday – Families today identified the
bodies of two Serbs missing in Kosovo from clothing and personal belongings
exhumed with the bodies from the Muslim cemetery in the Kosovo town of Djakovica.
Pathologist Slavisa Dobricanin said that the 37 bodies exhumed were all of
people from the local region.
Most were Serbs but several Roma were among them.
“Some were killed by firearms, some by blows from a blunt instrument, as
evidenced by multiple fractures. One of the bodies showed signs of torture and
had been tied up before death,” said Dobricanin.
About sixty families from Serbia and Montenegro attended today’s inspection of
clothing and personal belongings, which was organised by UNMIK police and
Belgrade’s Kosovo Coordination Centre.
More are expected to attend tomorrow.
