SERBIAN ASSEMBLY ELECTS SUPREME COURT,
BELGRADE DISTRICT COURT JUDGES

Belgrade, 11 April: Following a proposal of the High Judicial Council, the
Serbian Assembly elected tonight eight judges of the Serbian Supreme Court, as
well as 14 judges of the Belgrade District Court.
The following judges have been appointed to the Serbian Supreme Court: Sonja
Brkic, incumbent judge with the Novi Sad District Court and acting chairman of
the Serbian Supreme Court; Milena Inic-Drecun, incumbent deputy public
prosecutor at the Serbian Public Prosecutor's Office; lawyers Vera Pesic and
Relja Dimitrijevic; Jelena Borovac, incumbent judge with the Novi Sad District
Court, as well as Nata Mesarovic, Goran Cavlina and Neda Antonic, all three
incumbent judges with the Belgrade District Court. Bojan Pajtic, floor leader of
the DOS-Serbian Reforms parliamentary group, has called into question the
candidacy of Zoran Savic for judge to the Serbian Supreme Court.
The following judges have been appointed to the Belgrade District Court: Milica
Aksentijevic, Radoslav Bacovic, Milan Birman, Dragan Lazarevic, Velimir Lazovic,
Dusko Milenkovic, Vladislava Milicevic, Veselinka Milosevic, Vera Musovic, Vesna
Petrovic, Mirjana Popovic, Milica Popovic-Djurickovic, Tanja Sobat and Milan
Ranic.
