Hague seeks extra time for
Milosevic case
Beta - April 24, 2003
THE HAGUE -- Thursday – The Hague Prosecution has asked for an extension of the
deadline to finish its evidence against Slobodan Milosevic.
An additional 117 days are needed to complete the case, says the prosecution.
The original deadline given was until May 16 this year; it was later extended
until September 5 because of the former Yugoslav president’s ill health.
To date the prosecution has spent about 180 days in court presenting evidence.
In its submission the prosecution argues that the Belgrade offensive on
organised crime could lead to new “insider” witnesses agreeing to testify
against Milosevic.
