Text of report by Belgrade-based private BKTV on 30 November
[Presenter] Shots were fired at 18-year-old Dragan Jovanovic in the village of
Susica near Gracanica over an hour ago [around 1400 gmt]. Jovanovic's life is
not in danger and he is at Gracanica hospital. My colleague Zeljko Tvrdisic is
with us on the phone. Zeljko, what happened? Is this yet another terrorist
attack?
[Tvrdisic] Dragan Jovanovic was injured today in the village of Susica near
Gracanica when unknown perpetrators opened fire from an Audi A4. According to
the Gracanica health centre director, Dr Rada Trajkovic [who is also a Kosovo
Serb official], Jovanovic, who was injured today, has been hospitalized at the
Simonida hospital in Gracanica and his life is not in danger. Rada Trajkovic,
who is also the deputy chairwoman of the Serb National Council of Central Kosovo
[SNVCK], said that the attack was a classic terrorist attack which, fortunately,
did not take another Serb life. She said that tensions and anxiety among Serbs
in central Kosovo was high after the incident. The school in Susica has sent
pupils home, and some 100 villagers have gathered at the scene of the crime,
observing the investigation carried out by the police.
A Serb protest over the incident has been announced in Gracanica for tomorrow
under the banner Do Not Kill Our Children Stop Terrorism.
