Serb
representatives in Croatia request: Stop to anti-Serb campaign
Blic - May 23, 2005
Croatia top officials have
condemned planting of bombs that damaged municipality buildings in the villages
of Borovo Selo and Trpinje in which Serb Democratic Independent Party /SDSS/ won
recently held local elections. Croatia Prime Minister Ivo Sanader ordered the
Police to carry out rapid and intensive investigation.
The explosions took place two hours one after
another what leads to a conclusion that the same team is responsible for them.
However, as in the case of recently cruel murder of Dusan Vidic /81/ in the
village of Krupin and throwing of a bomb in the residential-business building
downtown Vukovar that houses the head office of the Party of Dunav Serbs/, the
Police have not found anything yet in these last two incidents either. A deputy
in Croatia Parliament and also leader of SDSS Milorad Pupovac yesterday held a
press conference in Zagreb at which he expressed protest and concern by the Serb
community over the recent wave of violence and terrorism in Croatia. He also
condemned the irresponsible campaign against Serbs by some Croatia politicians
and media that led to recent incidents. He also accused Croatia Television /HTV/
for 'turning from public into private television for spreading of hatred'.
Organization for European security and cooperation /OSCE/ has condemned the
series of bomb attacks that occurred in Vukovar last weekend.
'Such incidents that occurred immediately after local elections held in the
atmosphere of tolerance and democracy, are reasons for serious concern', OSCE
spokeswoman in Croatia Antonella Kerassino said.
