KOSOVO ALBANIAN SENTENCED TO 10.5 YEARS FOR
DRUG TRAFFICKING
CTK National News Wire - November 27, 2003
PRAGUE, Nov 27 ; (HOL) - Kosovo Albanian Astrit Bityci was sentenced to 10.5
years in prison for having smuggled ten kilos of heroin to Sweden from the Czech
Republic and two kilos of heroin to Germany in 1999, by the Prague High Court
today.
The high court thereby cancelled the original verdict of the Regional Court in
Plzen, west Bohemia, which gave Bityci a two- year longer sentence.
At the same time, the Prague court cancelled the second part of the verdict
passed by the low-level court, according to which Bityci, along with Macedonian
Ismail Idrizi, smuggled seven kilogrammes of heroin from Prague via Germany to
Denmark.
The Plzen Regional Court will have to deal with this part of the charges again.
