Iranian President Khatami to visit Croatia next week

Zagreb - Iranian President Mohamed Khatami will arrive in Croatia Monday for a two-day official visit, it was announced Friday.

Khatami will meet Croatian counterpart Stipe Mesic as well as Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, with the two countries expected to sign several business and communications agreements.

Zagreb wants to boost cooperation with Iran in various scientific and industrial fields including pharmaceuticals and ship-building.

The Iranian leader, who will be in Croatia for the first time, is also expected to make a brief trip to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
