Sarajevo, 9 February: At the session in Sarajevo today, the Bosnia-Hercegovina
Federation Parliament's House of Representatives adopted by a majority of votes
the Bosnia-Hercegovina Federation family bill. The (lower) house did not debate
the amendment to the bill which has been the most mentioned issue in the
parliament since yesterday.
The amendment has been put forward by SDA (Party of Democratic Action, main
Muslim party) MP Mirsad Hasanic who proposed the right for all persons to two or
more civil marriages at the same time.
House of Representatives Speaker Muhamed Ibrahimovic said during the MPs' vote
on the bill that, in procedural terms, the mentioned amendment by Hasanic had
been put forward too late. (Passage omitted)
