Sarajevo, 30 July: Regarding the Israeli massacre in Qana in Lebanon, Reis-ul-Ulema
Mustafa Ceric has issued the following statement:
"The Israeli massacre of over 54 civilians, including at least 34 children, in
Qana this morning is just another mistake in a series of mistakes Israel is
making in the Middle East. The Israeli massacre of innocent children in Qana
cannot be justified in any way. The human brain cannot comprehend it, and the
soul cannot take it.
"Obviously, the Israeli Army has lost control over itself and it is in no
condition to make rational judgements. If the world leaders who support
everything Israel does have no feelings for Lebanese civilian casualties, let
them then show mercy towards Israel and help it avoid committing suicide,
because the massacre in Qana is an act of suicide on Israel's part.
"The crime in Qana is a crime against Israel itself. This is difficult to
comprehend now but the Israeli Army must comprehend it as all other armies that
have committed crimes against humanity have comprehended it.
"An unconditional and immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and Palestine - as well as
bringing permanent and just peace and security for all people and nations in the
region - is the way out of the vicious circle of evil which is hovering above
the Middle East.
"The Islamic Community in B-H [Bosnia-Hercegovina] feels deep empathy with the
victims of the massacre in Qana and calls on Muslims to say a prayer to Allah
for peace and good in the world," says the statement by Reis-ul-Ulema Dr Mustafa
Ceric.
