Kosovska Mitrovica, 2 January: One Serb-owned house was torched and seven others were stoned in a synchronized terrorist act during the first day of the New Year in the Bosniak district [Serbian: Bosnjacka mahala] of the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, the Coordination Centre for Kosovo-Metohija [headed by Vuko Antonijevic] office in the town [Kosovska Mitrovica] today said.

The house owned by Radovan Lazic was torched at around 0200 [0100 gmt] and fire fighting units barely managed to extinguish the fire which had caught a large part of the house and rendered it unfit for accommodation, a statement said.

Family houses of Goran Milutinovic, Predrag Jevdjic, Petar Jeremic, Dragisa Jeremic, Radovan Janicijevic, Dragoljub Memarovic and Rados Ljusic were also stoned and damaged, the statement said, adding that owing to fortunate circumstances nobody had been injured in this series of simultaneous attacks against Serb homes.
