KOSOVO:
UNMIK POLICE CONFISCATE 45 KG OF HEROIN ON BORDER WITH ALBANIA

Pristina, 5 February: UNMIK (UN Mission in
Kosovo) police today announced
that 45 kg of heroin was confiscated at the Vrbnica border crossing with Albania
on 30 January, and that this was the biggest operation in the fight against
drugs smugglers in Kosovo
so far.
The customs officer who found 70 heroin packages on the floor in the boot of a
vehicle with Albanian registration plates, which was crossing from Albania to
Kosovo, informed the
Kosovo police force
about the haul. The police immediately began a search of the border zone and
found two Albanian suspects.
The street value of the confiscated drugs is more than 2m euros.
