SERBIAN ELECTION COMMISSION ACCEPTS SOCIALIST
CANDIDATE'S NOMINATION

Belgrade, 23 April: The Republican Election Commission (RIK) today declared
Ivica Dacic, nominated by the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), as candidate for
president of Serbia, the information service of the republic's parliament
announced this evening.
The commission adopted the draft resolution on determining conditions for the
appointment of representatives of the proposers of presidential candidates in
the expanded composition of the RIK, election commissions of local
self-administration units and election councils, as well as the draft resolution
on determining the persons who on behalf of the SPS, as the proposer of
presidential candidates, are to be included in the expanded composition of the
RIK.
The commission's session was presided over by Chairman Zoran Perovic.
