China against imposed Kosovo solution

BEIJING -- After talks with China's vice-president, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić
said China opposed an imposed Kosovo solution.
Jeremić said in Beijing Thursday that he had been told by Zeng Qinghong that,
when it came to the UN Security Council, China would oppose any outcome that was
unacceptable to either side.
The minister stressed that he was very pleased with the way the talks with the
Chinese leadership had gone, during which they agreed that any solution to the
Kosovo problem had to stem from a compromise.
He added that Kosovo had not been the only matter under discussion. They had
also touched on strengthening and extending bilateral, and particularly economic
relations between the two countries.
"In the 21st century, no-one will be successful at international relations
without having a good knowledge of Chinese language, culture and their attitudes
to international relations," stressed Jeremić.
