Kosovska Mitrovica, 2 October: Members of the terrorist Albanian National Army
(ANA) (AKSh in Albanian) have been spotted late at night on several roads,
stopping vehicles and controlling passengers' documents, reliable international
sources in the province have said.
According to the same sources, two such cases were reported to the international
police last week.
Members of ANA have been noticed along roads near Kosovska Kamenica and the
Kosovska Mitrovica-Srbica, Srbica-Klina, Pec-Kula, Suva Reka-Dulje-Stimlje
roads.
They are wearing uniforms with ANA insignia, the source said and added that they
controlled these roads between 2000 (1800 gmt) and dawn.
ANA members are blamed for a series of incidents in Kosovo over the past month,
including the opening of sniper fire at a UN police vehicle on 10 September near
the village of Dudin Krs on the Kosovska Mitrovica-Zvecan road.
Former UNMIK (UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo) Michael Steiner had
declared ANA a terrorist organization after two of its members tried to blow up
the bridge in the village of Loziste in Zvecan municipality. The two ANA members
were killed in the blast on the bridge.
