Serbia to receive 29 bodies of Serbs murdered in Kosovo in 1998

Belgrade, 11 October: The Commission on Missing Persons [unspecified] today said that the hand over of 29 identified bodies of Serbs and other non-Albanians found in the Volujak mass grave and other locations in Kosovo would be carried out in Merdare at a Kfor [NATO-led Kosovo Force] base on the administrative border [between Serbia, Kosovo] on Friday [13 October].

A statement said that this was about persons abducted and murdered during terrorist attacks by the Kosovo Liberation Army [KLA, UCK in Albanian] throughout 1998.

Beside members of the Commission on Missing Persons, families of the missing persons will attend the hand over.

Following the takeover, the mortal remains of the victims will be transferred to Orlovaca cemetery in Belgrade where families will stage an overnight vigil. A commemorative gathering will be held the following day on 14 October at 1000 [0800 gmt] to which senior state officials are also invited.
