ALBANIAN REBELS URGE KOSOVO TO ANNEX SOUTHERN SERBIA MUNICIPALITIES
BBC Monitoring International Reports - October 30, 2005

Bujanovac, 29 October: Black Shadow, a new organization, has claimed that it is a part of the newly formed Albanian National Army. It raised its voice in a statement warning Belgrade and Pristina that no talks about the future status of Kosovo would succeed unless Eastern Kosovo [Albanian extremists' name for southern Serbian municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja] becomes part of Kosovo.

A statement dated last night said that if this happened [if these two territories are not joined], the fate of the Albanian people would be in the hands of the Serbian occupation forces.

Black Shadow warned Albanian leaders "for the first and last time" not to describe the territory of Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja municipalities as Presevo Valley in the their public statements but rather as Eastern Kosovo, and that it was high time to act united regarding all issues and to leave personal interests behind.

This organization "demanded of occupying Serbian authorities urgent release of all OVPMB [Liberation Army of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja; UCPMB in Albanian] members from jail". It also urged the international community "not to repeat mistakes from the last century, which led to a war in Kosovo and Eastern Kosovo".

[Ethnic] Albanian policemen were warned to be "well-tempered in their behaviour, because otherwise they would be considered part of the Serbian occupation forces", and Serbian authorities were urged to "withdraw all their troops from Eastern Kosovo - police and other forces".

Nobody has claimed responsibility for the incident last night when a bomb was thrown at a multiethnic police prefabricated barracks.
