SERBIA TO SUE UN OVER PRIVATIZATION IN
KOSOVO
FoNet - December 20, 2003
Belgrade - The chairman of the (Serbian government) Coordination Centre for
Kosovo-Metohija, Nebojsa Covic, has
said that he will file a lawsuit with the International Court against UNMIK
officials responsible for the manner in which the privatization, which Covic
describes as "robbery", is being conducted in the southern Serbian province, the
Democratic Alternative (DA, Covic's party) said in a statement issued today.
Visiting the village of Gorazdevac near Pec today, Covic urge its people to be
"united" because "that is the only way to resist against the enemy who wants to
ethnically cleanse the area".
"We have to strive to save our health and education institutions in
Kosovo-Metohija and the priority is to
preserve Kosovo within Serbia," Covic
said.
