FEDERATION TV BLAMES RULING MUSLIM ELITE FOR
RECENT ANTI-GAY RIOTS
BBC Monitoring International Reports - September 30, 2008, Tuesday
Text of report by Bosnia-Hercegovina Federation public TV, on 29 September
[Host Bakir Hadziomerovic] [commentary introduced by anti-gay video showing a
knife and a missile beheading the figure shown on posters announcing recent
Sarajevo queer festival; video says "Bosnia is the mother to Bosniaks [Bosnian
Muslims], not to gays", warns organizer Svetlana Djurkovic to "watch out", calls
her "a disgrace for Bosnia"] The horrific footage you have seen in the early
seconds of tonight's "60 Minutes" appeared on YouTube and stayed there briefly.
It is assumed that the maniac sending the message was outside Sarajevo's Academy
of Fine Arts [venue of gay festival opening event] on Wednesday evening [24
September], where 100-odd fascists mobbed participants and guests of the first
queer festival in Bosnia-Hercegovina's capital.
The Kristallnacht, during which Wahhabis and thugs - repeat offenders among them
- literally hunted down and beat festival's guests and participants in city
streets, is the last illustration to all of us as to where we actually live. We
live in a city which in terms of respect for human rights and freedoms has long
since ceased to resemble modern European metropolises although ruling
power-lords, from [Sarajevo mayor] Semiha Borovac through both Silajdzics [state
Presidency chair/SBiH chairman Haris Silajdzic, Sarajevo Canton premier Samir
Silajdzic], Izetbegovic junior [high-ranking official of Party of Democratic
Action (SDA) official Bakir, son of late Bosnian Muslim leader Alija Izetbegovic]
to [head of Bosnian Islamic Community] Reis [Mustafa effendi] Ceric, are falling
over themselves explaining that Sarajevo is a full-blown multiethnic metropolis.
It is precisely these power-lords that consciously lie when placing the capital
of B-H [Bosnia-Hercegovina] where it objectively does not belong who also bear
the greatest responsibility for its Kabulization. For it is old hat that for
days before the queer festival, through the regime media, Borovac, Silajdzics,
Cerics and Izetbegovics - not infrequently even personally - encouraged the
thugs and prepared the ground for the violence that took place in Sarajevo's
Crystal Night.
However horrific it may sound, this latest incidence of savagery was not
unexpected since even on earlier occasions the city had been the stage of most
heinous Taleban incidents, with overt support by the SDA, Party for B-H [SBiH]
and the Islamic Community leadership. Cut the liar's hand off, but had not
mostly the same persons who were on the rampage outside the Academy of Fine Arts
prepared well-orchestrated violence in the streets of Sarajevo six years ago on
the deportation of the Algerian group [six naturalized Bosnians, terror
suspects, since then detained in Guantanamo]. It was only thanks to a strong
SFOR [Stabilization Force] presence and a better-prepared police force that they
then failed to achieve what they, unfortunately, succeeded in five days ago.
