BOSNIAN MINISTRY CONFIRMS IDENTITY OF TERROR SUSPECT ARRESTED IN PAKISTAN

Sarajevo, 13 March: The person recently arrested by Pakistani police on suspicion of being linked with Al-Qaeda and presumed to be a Bosnian citizen, has been identified as Nihad Cosic, the Bosnian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday [13 March].

The statement said that the Bosnian Embassy in Islamabad had been contacted by a person who said his name was Nihad Cosic. Cosic was inquiring about the procedure for getting a new passport, saying he had lost his on "an illegal trip to Pakistan."

Bosnia's Embassy in Pakistan, in contact with the local authorities, is checking the identity of this person.

The media reported that Nihad Cosic had been arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of undergoing training in Al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan.
