Negotiating process on Kosovo has no alternative-Russia FM

MOSCOW, April 4 - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov said on Wednesday that the results of the first round of the discussion on the Kosovo status ``confirm the Russian opinion that there is no reasonable alternative to the continuation of the negotiating process.''

According to him, ``The forced variant drafted without taking into consideration international norms will not promote long-term settlement, the interests of regional stability and settlement of conflicts in other regions of the world.'' ``We are certain that the desire to quickly 'close' the Kosovo issue by way of a unilateral decision will only give rise to new serious problems,'' the Russian deputy foreign minister noted.
