NLA COMMANDER CAKALLA WANTED IN MACEDONIA SURRENDERS IN KOSOVO

Skopje/Pristina 2 February: Avdyl Jakupi - Cakalla, one of the former commanders
of the so-called NLA (National Liberation Army - UCK in Albanian) in Macedonia,
accused by Macedonian police being responsible for an outbreak of violence and
several bomb attacks in the capital Skopje, Friday (30 January) surrendered to
NATO-led peacekeepers in Kosovo.
Macedonian Interior Ministry issued a warrant and sent other documentation for
Cakalla to Kfor (Kosovo Force) and UNMIK (UN Interim Administration Mission in
Kosovo). Macedonian Justice Ministry should decide on request for Cakalla's
extradition.
On Friday, Macedonia made a formal request for the extradition of the Xhemail
Hiseni, known as "Commander Jamie Shea," who was sentenced to seven years in
prison by the Macedonian judiciary last November in Kumanovo.
Adnan Abazi, member of the illegal organization ANA (Albanian National Army -
AKSh in Albanian), also surrender Friday to Kfor troops.
After Jakupi and Abazi surrendered, they were transferred to US Camp Bondsteel.
Then according to Kfor were surrendered to UNMIK police.
