Sarajevo: The two Sarajevans of Bosniak [Bosnian Muslim] ethnicity, who were arrested in the B-H [Bosnia-Hercegovina] capital on Friday [18 November] on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack, were being questioned yesterday by the B-H Prosecutor's Office and will probably be given one month's detention, a B-H Court has stated. The B-H Federation MUP [Interior Ministry] confirmed that an operation aimed at dismantling the suspected terrorist network was continued yesterday.

"The raids are continuing today. Depending on what we find during those raids, more arrests may follow. We are investigating several individuals who maintained contact with those arrested," a source in the Federation MUP told Nezavisne Novine yesterday. He pointed out that investigators discovered "striking" revelations that would cause quite a stir among the public.

"People are a bit mistrustful of the media and believe that the talk of terrorism is exaggerated. However, we have discovered horrible things and found evidence of preparations for attacks inside, and outside, Bosnia-Hercegovina," the source told Nezavisne Novine .

We have learned that members of the Federation MUP and the EUFOR [EU peacekeeping force] searched for explosives in a broader area on Mount Igman yesterday, where the suspects had set up some sort of camp.

"I will neither confirm nor deny speculation on new arrests and information that the two men arrested on Friday had been preparing attacks and possessed explosives," Robert Cvrtak, spokesman for the Federation MUP Administration, said.

The two Sarajevans were arrested as part of an investigation launched by the B-H Prosecutor's Office after the recent capture in Sarajevo of the Swedish and Turkish nationals, Mirsad Bektasevic and Cesur Abdulkadir, and B-H citizen Abdulkadir Bislim. Bektasevic and Abdulkadir were detained and placed under investigation on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks, while the B-H national was released. The Sarajevans arrested the day before yesterday were allegedly supplying them with explosives.
