Banja Luka, 10 May: Republika Srpska [Bosnian Serb Republic, RS] Police Director
Dragomir Andan said on Tuesday [10 May] that the 11 individuals responsible for
the terrorist attacks that took place on 11 March 2004 in Madrid, Spain, "were
trained in BiH [Bosnia-Hercegovina]".
Andan said that, according to the RS police intelligence data, "the detonators
used in the attacks were produced in BiH". He added that the RS Ministry of
Interior has a "list of 200 Bosniaks [Bosnian Muslims] who were members of the
Mujahidin units, trained by the Al-Qa'idah in BiH".
According to Andan, these individuals are under investigation, although the list
is not final.
The RS Ministry of Interior, Andan said, has a special team working on the
prevention of terrorism, adding that the RS is "the first dam to Europe, and we
expect full support from the international community".
