Over 90% of Albanians want a "Greater Albania"
Partito Democratico (Italy) - February 7, 2008
Over 90% of Albanians in the Balkans dream of a "Greater Albania" which includes
Albania, Kosovo, and parts of Macedonia, Greece and Montenegro. This was proven
by a telephone survey commissioned by the program "Cooperation Between
Albanians" broadcast by the Albanian television network Vision Plus and
Macedonia's Press Online.
According to the survey, "only 5% of interviewees opposed the unification of
Albanians in a single state" stressed former Albanian Foreign Minister Paskal
Milo who argued that it is "natural to expect the gradual unification of the
Albanians".
The position of the Government in Tirana: The conservative premier Sali Berisha
has repeatedly said that Albania has no aims to annex Kosovo or any other
territory in the region. An important clarification in view of Kosovo's
proclamation of independence from Serbia.
