Kosovo parliament employee arrested in Serbia
for drugs possession

A Kosovo parliament employee has been arrested in Serbia for possession of
drugs, Kosovo media report on 4 July.
According to a report posted on the private KohaVision TV website, Serbian
police arrested in Nis three people - one Serb and two Albanians. One of them
has been named as Naim Hamiti, the driver of a member of the Kosovo Assembly
Presidency. The other is his brother, a lawyer. The police found half a kilo of
heroin in their vehicle.
Public broadcaster RTK reported on its website that Kosovo Assembly Spokesperson
Ismet Hajrullahu was not aware of the arrest, while Kosovo Police Service (KPS)
spokesperson Veton Elshani confirmed the arrest, adding that the KPS had asked
the UN mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) to approach Belgrade for details of the arrest
of the two Kosovans in Serbia.
Both KohaVision TV and RTK cited Kosovo Speaker Krasnici as denying
responsibility for employees of the Presidency members since they are not
employed by the parliament's administration.
