Security force barracks blast shows Kosovo's instability - Serbian deputy PM

Text of report by Serbian public broadcaster RTS TV satellite service, on 23 January

[Presenter] The [Serbian] deputy prime minister and interior minister, Ivica Dacic, has said that the incident in Pec, when the barracks of the Kosovo Security Force was shelled, shows that the security situation in Kosovo is unstable and that there are various groups which were terrorist ones in the past, where as they are just dressed in different clothes today.

We have in agreement with the international community accepted international factors as responsible for the public order and peace and security of citizens in Kosovo-Metohija, because since the Kumanovo agreement [1999] the Serbian MUP [Ministry of Internal Affairs] does not have its members in the province, Dacic told journalists during his tour of the MUP command centre in the area of the [Belgrade] university residence campus in Novi Beograd [New Belgrade].

To recall, unknown persons shelled the Kosovo Security Force barracks near Pec last night and there were no injured persons in the incident.
