Kosovo Serbs hold protest rally in divided town

The Serb National Council of Northern Kosmet has organized a protest rally in Kosovska Mitrovica under the slogan Kosovo Is Serbia. Here is more from our correspondent from Kosovska Mitrovica, Maja Radojevic.

[Radojevic] Serb National Council Chairman Milan Ivanovic said once again today that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija would never accept independent Kosovo and asked the Serbs to return to Serbia's institutional system. We are not a state without Kosovo and Metohija and we are fighting for Kosovo using all existing legitimate methods, Ivanovic said. He asked everyone present to deny Boris Tadic and Bozidar Djelic the right to sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement [SAA] with the European Union. Famous soccer player Dusan Savic said in Kosovska Mitrovica that Serbia was born in Kosovo and Metohija and that it has to be defended using all means. Actors Milan Lane Gutovic and Tihomir Arsic also gave their support and the next protest rally has been scheduled for the following Wednesday.
