US OFFICE REPORTEDLY BANS SERB MEDIA FROM
ATTENDING KOSOVO MEETINGS
SRNA - April 20, 2004
Pristina, 20 April: The US office in Pristina has not allowed representatives of
the Serb media to attend meetings of the EU Contact group and NATO with
international community representatives, UNMIK (UN Interim Administration
Mission in Kosovo) and Serbs, which are taking place in the office, SRNA's
correspondent has reported.
Reporters of the Link Production NGO (non-governmental organization) and KiM
radio were the only ones invited to attend the meetings and the UNMIK
information service informed correspondents of the other Serb media that they
were not permitted to follow the delegations' visit to Pristina.
"It is all up to the US office," UNMIK's coordinator Vlada Trajkovic said.
Despite calls and phone contacts, the press officer of the US office said that
today's meetings could be attended only by accredited journalists.
