Rival Albanian party activists exchange fire during Macedonian elections

Skopje, 25 April: A man was injured by gunfire and several people were beaten up
in an incident which took place in the Macedonian village of Vartekica, in the
municipality of Studenicani, where voting was repeated in the second round of
local elections yesterday, Macedonian dailies reported today.
The shooting broke out after a dispute between representatives of two Albanian
parties - the Democratic Party of Albanians [DPA, PDSh in Albanian] and the
Democratic Union for Integration [DUI, BDI in Albanian]. Party activists took
part in the incident.
