BOSNIAN SERB PARTY DEPUTIES WALK OUT OF
ASSEMBLY AFTER SPEAKER'S DISMISSALS

Banja Luka, 30 June: The SDS (Serb Democratic Party) deputies walked out of
today's session of the Serb Republic People's Assembly after Speaker Dragan
Kalinic had informed them that he had been dismissed by High Representative
Paddy Ashdown.
Before leaving the Assembly hall, SDS deputy Borislav Bojic - on behalf of the
SDS floor group - assessed that such brutal dismissals destroyed democratic
principles and that they raised the question of whether there was any point in
holding elections.
He said that the SDS he would continue to boycott parliamentary proceedings
until further notice.
The assembly session started at 1130 (0930 gmt) with Kalinic's address.
