NATO TROOPS IN KOSOVO STEP UP SECURITY FOLLOWING TIP-OFF
SRNA - November 27, 2003

Pristina - Kfor (Kosovo Force) forces have been reinforced since this morning after the UNMIK (UN Mission in Kosovo) police received an anonymous tip-off last night that a terrorist attack could be carried out against a peace mission facility, a SRNA correspondent has reported.

SRNA has learned at the UNMIK HQ that according to the tip-off, received at 1900 (1800 gmt), the attack could be carried out over the next 72 hours. Reinforced Kfor forces in combat vehicles are guarding the approaches to the main UN building housing the office of the Kosovo civilian administrator, Harri Holkeri.

Kfor members are patrolling all road junctions in the centre of Pristina, while Kosovo police, assisted by international police, are guarding approaches to the town.
