KOSOVO SERB LEADERS DISSATISFIED WITH UNMIK
CHIEF'S REPORT TO UNSC
Tanjug - February 7, 2004
Kosovska Mitrovica, 7 February: Minister Goran Bogdanovic, the only Serb in the
Kosovo government,
told Tanjug on Saturday (7 February) that he was dissatisfied with the report
UNMIK (UN Interim Administration Mission in
Kosovo) head Harri Holkeri had
submitted to the UN Security Council (UNSC) on Friday, because it did not quote
the real reasons for the absence of Serbs from the groups in charge of
implementing the Standards for Kosovo.
"What we do agree with is that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina may
resume and we support this initiative," Bogdanovic said. Return coalition's whip
at the Kosovo parliament Dragisa Krstovic said that he had expected Holkeri to
present a more objective and complete picture of Kosovo-Metohija.
"The UNMIK head should have spoken about non-existent return results and in this
context mentioned the main culprits - the international mission and local
Albanians," Krstovic said.
"Holkeri's speech at the UN Security Council has shown that UNMIK's policy is to
pave the way for a new Albanian state in the Balkans," Union of Serb
Municipalities and Settlements in Kosovo-Metohija Assembly President Marko
Jaksic told Tanjug.
He said that Holkeri had not said a single word about the plight of the Serb
community in the province.
