Macedonia closes two border crossings towards Kosovo

22:50 SKOPJE , March 17 (Tanjug) - Due to the escalation of ethnic Albanian violence in Kosovo-Metohija, the Border Brigade of the Republic of Macedonia Army (ARM) on Wednesday intensified the alertness and increased the number of its patrols along the northern border line, ARM Headquarters spokesman Major Zoran Sekulovski confirmed in Skopje.

"Due to the new situation, the Border Brigade has intensified the alertness in securing the stae border line, the number of border patrols has also been increased, and the ARM members' coordination with (international forces) Kfor (Kosovo forces), as well as with the Interior Ministry, has been intensified," Major Sekulovski said.
