Over 3,000 taken into custody, 1,000 detained

18:18 BELGRADE ,March 23 (Tanjug) - Serbian Deputy Premier Cedomir Jovanovic said on Sunday, citing official data of the Serbian Interior Ministry, that since the introduction of the state of emergency after the murder of Premier Zoran Djindjic 3,000 individuals have been taken into custody while over a 1,000 of them have been detained.
Jovanovic, as guest of a BK television program, said that the duration of the state of emergency should be measured in weeks, not months, for completing the ongoing investigation and for ridding Serbia of everything that is bad in it.
