Assassin of Zoran Djindjic arrested

15:56 BELGRADE , March 25 (Tanjug) - Serbian Premier Zoran Zivkovic announced on Tuesday that the until now deputy commander of the Special Operations Unit (JSO), Zvezdan Jovanovic, nicknamed Zveki, had been arrested on suspicion of slaying Serbian Premier Zoran Djindjic.

Zivkovic told a press conference that the police had found a Heckler and Koch sniper rifle in New Belgrade believed to have been used in the assassination. Zivkovic said that Sasa Pejakovic, nicknamed Pele, another JSO member, had also been arrested on suspicion of being directly involved in the preparation of the Djindjic murder.
