SERB OFFICIAL DISMISSES OUTLAWING OF KOSOVO'S ALBANIAN NATIONAL ARMY
Tanjug - April 17, 2003

Gracanica, 17 April: Serb People's Council of Central Kosovo and Return coalition member Rada Trajkovic told Tanjug on Thursday 17 April that "by putting ANA (Albanian National Army) AKSh in Albanian at the list of terrorist organizations", UNMIK UN Interim Administration in Kosovo head Michael Steiner "has merely punished the offspring, since the Kosovo Protection Corps stands behind it as its logistic, financial and armed support".

Stressing that Steiner's decision to declare ANA a terrorist organization is indisputable, Trajkovic recalled that Kosovo Serbs, who know the situation, knew that "ANA practically does not exist". "We in Kosovo know that, in fact, ANA does not exist and that its members come from the ranks of the Kosovo Protection Corps. They only put hoods on their heads at night and start to commit terrorist acts," Trajkovic said.

She supported this by saying that at the Thursday session of the Kosovo parliament, speaker Nexhat Daci had refused Steiner's proposal that parliament declare ANA a terrorist organization.
