KOSOVO: SERBIAN PARTY CHAIRMAN SAYS "INSTITUTIONAL REPRESSION CONTINUES"
Tanjug - April 20, 2003

Kraljevo, 20 April: President of the Serbian People's Council (SNV) of northern Kosovo-Metohija Milan Ivanovic said in Kraljevo on Saturday 19 April that the situation in Kosovo-Metohija was getting worse and that "institutional repression continues" through the transfer of some UNMIK's UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo competences "to Kosovo, i.e. ethnic Albanian institutions."

"This is why we cannot agree to join these ethnic Albanian institutions, where, through drastic outvoting, ethnic Albanian goal is being fulfilled to create an independent Albanian state, which would initially be called Kosovo, with the final goal of creating a greater Albania from Kosovo, Albania, parts of Macedonia, Montenegro and northern Greece," Ivanovic told a news conference during his visit to Kraljevo.
