At least 150,000 pieces of stolen arms in Kosovo

15:16 TIRANA , April 22 (Tanjug) - At least 150,000 pieces of different arms, stollen from Albanian army garrisons in 1997, were passed on to the forces that organized a rebellion in neighboring Kosovo and Metohija in early 1998 to secure secession from Serbia, the United States news agency Associated Press reported from Tirana.

The agency also said on Wednesday, quoting a statement by the Albanian Defense Ministry, that a major action had begun to destroy outdated and heavy arms which the Albanian armed forces no longer need.
