Over 4,000 Serbs have
left Obilic, Jakovljevic
Tanjug - June 9, 2003
16:56 BELGRADE - A total of 8,000
Serbs inhabited the Obilic municipality before June 1999, while less than 4,000
remain four years after the international community assumed the administration
of Kosovo-Metohija, a member of the Serbian National Council for Central Kosovo,
Mirce Jakovljevic said in Obilic on Monday.
At present only a mere 450 Serbs live in the town of Obilic, in the most
difficult conditions, without any freedom of movement and in constant fear from
ethnic Albanian extremists, Jakovljevic told Tanjug following a meeting between
the Serb delegation and Serbian Deputy Premier Nebojsa Covic, who is also
Kosovo-Metohija Coordination Center head.
