Unemployment rate in Serbia under review

17:15 BELGRADE -The current unemployment rate in Serbia is 30.34 percent, with the highest percentage among job seekers with secondary education (54 pct), followed by those with first and second degree qualifications (38.5) and by the highly qualified (3.3), according to the Serbian Labor Market Institute figures.

According to the latest research on unemployment and employment being carried out by the Institute, a total of 969,466 unemployed were registered in July this year, which is 16.3 pct more than in the same month of 2002. Of this total, 54.4 pct are women and over one half are first job seekers.
