09:55 BELGRADE , June 11 (Tanjug) - Former chief of the Serbian Interior Ministry State Security Department Jovica Stanisic, who is indicted by The Hague tribunal with war crimes committed in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, took a regular flight and left for Amsterdam early on Wednesday, from where he will be transferred to the Scheveningen detention unit.

A corresponding warrant was signed at the Serbia-Montenegro Human and Minority Rights Ministry last week.

In a recent arraignment before a Belgrade judge, Stanisic also denied the war crimes charges but said he would not contest extradition and hoped to prove his innocence before the U.N. court.

The extradition of Stanisic was delayed because of his poor health and a recent colon surgery.
