YUGOSLAVIA IS ABOLISHED

The Yugoslav parliament Chamber of Citizens (lower
house) adopted Tuesday evening the Serbia-Montenegro Constitutional Charter and
the Implementing Law by a majority of votes.
Of the 115 MP's present, 84 voted in favor of the Charter, 31 voted against and
there were no abstentions.
The Serbia-Montenegro Constitutional Charter and Implementing Law were
proclaimed Tuesday evening at a joint session of both houses of the Yugoslav
parliament.
Both documents are effective immediately, which means that the new state
community of Serbia and Montenegro has been created.
